(Review by Sean Conover)
An interesting plot where Kim Bassinger is kidnapped and locked in an attic and pieces together a smashed telephone to connect to a lucky cell phone user who ultimately helps her, "Cellular" quickly becomes an overblown, roll-your-eyes action fluff piece. There's some nice plot twists to keep you interested, and the action is passable, but a lot of the dialogue and many of the action scenes are not up to "Speed." Pop-quiz, hot shot: how far can you go around your town before losing a cell phone signal at least once? I'm willing to bet it isn't as far as this movie goes out of bounds.
Fluffy action that ends up being a poor excuse for "Speed 3," but light fun in the end. | |
